Santiago police detain five people and recover stolen vehicles
The National Police arrested five people linked to crimes in Santiago, including cases of gender-based violence and theft. A car and motorcycle reported as stolen were also recovered.
Operations in Santiago result in five arrests and vehicle recoveries
The National Police carried out a series of operations in different sectors of Santiago province, according to elnuevodiario.com.do, resulting in the arrest of five people linked to various criminal offences, as well as the recovery of two vehicles and items allegedly stolen.
In the municipality of Tamboril, agents executed arrest warrant number 2026-AJ0070675 against Erick Junior Santana Martínez, 27 years old, identified as allegedly involved in a case of gender-based violence and sexual assault against a minor under 16 years of age.
In the city centre, on Del Sol street, Rosaría Delgado Rosario, 36 years old, was detained under warrant 2026-AJ0076962. The woman is being investigated for an alleged physical assault with a bladed weapon and death threats against a citizen.
Also in Tamboril, Yancarlo Vásquez Méndez, alias "El Deportado", 23 years old, was arrested under warrant 2026-AJ0077794. The authorities link him to a theft committed through breaking and entering at a commercial establishment, where 28,000 pesos and a mobile phone were allegedly stolen.
In the municipality of Navarrete, Ale Pierre, 28 years old and Haitian national, was detained in flagrante delicto while allegedly stealing items from a local shop.
The Stolen Vehicle Recovery Section located a gold Hyundai Sonata automobile, licence plate A619108, with a theft report in La Vega province. In addition, it recovered a blue Suzuki AX100 motorcycle, 2022 model year, also reported as stolen. In connection with the latter case, three people were taken in for investigative purposes.
The institution stated that the arrested persons, the recovered vehicles and the seized items will be handed over to the Public Prosecutor's Office for the corresponding legal proceedings.
