Police seize drugs and weapons in Villa Mella, Santo Domingo Norte and Monte Plata
The National Police arrested several people and confiscated marijuana, cocaine and three illegal weapons in operations in Villa Mella and Monte Plata.
Anti-drug operations result in arrests and weapons seized in four areas of the country
According to elnacional.com.do, the National Police seized portions of marijuana and cocaine, three illegally carried firearms and arrested several people during interventions carried out in Villa Mella, Santo Domingo Norte, Sabana Grande de Boyá and Monte Plata.
Among those arrested are Marino Argenis, José Elías Galet, Julio Alberto Torres and Aneudy Benzán. The four were apprehended at points previously identified by authorities as focal points of micro-trafficking and criminal activities.
As part of the same operations, agents located a man who was a fugitive from justice due to his alleged involvement in a homicide case, who was taken out of circulation along with the three illegal weapons recovered.
The detainees and all evidence seized were placed at the disposal of the corresponding departments for the relevant legal purposes. The interventions are part of institutional efforts to counter the sale of narcotics in neighbourhoods of the capital and the province of Monte Plata.
