Police recover RD$2 million following murder of wife of "Julián Oro Duro" in Santo Domingo
The National Police recovered US$33,690 and RD$196,500 in cash, watches and jewellery from the robbery in which the merengue musician's wife was murdered. Four people were arrested.

The National Police recovered US$33,690 and RD$196,500 in cash, as well as watches, chains and other belongings stolen during the robbery at the residence of merengue musician Gilberto Julián Sarante Perdomo, known as "Julián Oro Duro", located in Brisa Oriental VI, Santo Domingo Este. During the incident, his wife, Zeneida Socorro Castillo, was murdered, and the artist was wounded.
According to eldia.com.do, part of the money was found buried inside a flower pot during one of the searches conducted at the home of one of the defendants. The proceedings were coordinated by agents from the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DICRIM) in conjunction with the Public Ministry.
The investigations made it possible to identify and apprehend four people allegedly linked to the incident. In the Los Guaricanos sector, Santo Domingo Norte, a motorcycle was also recovered that is believed to have been used by the perpetrators during the robbery.
The breakdown of evidence indicates that Kevin Dariel Germán Troncozo had US$3,750 and RD$88,000 seized. Juan Carlos Hernández García had US$240 and RD$30,500 confiscated, of which RD$2,000 were found at the moment of his arrest and the remaining RD$28,500 during a search. Michael Tejada Vásquez had US$9,800 in his possession, whilst Lawrence Mark Liranzo Marcos, alias "Chiquito", had US$19,900 and RD$78,000 seized, plus several of the stolen items.
Among the recovered goods are two watches—one Rolex brand and another Cardo—two chains, a medal, a guilloche piece, a women's brooch, a Louis Vuitton bag, a Toyota vehicle key and spectacles, amongst other items.
The details were presented by the National Police spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira, who displayed the evidence and the progress of the investigation at a press conference.
The proceedings continue under coordination of the Public Ministry with the aim of establishing the exact circumstances of the incident and determining individual responsibility of each of those involved.
