A master sergeant was shot and killed during an assault at a bar in the Higüero sector. The National Police are searching for several suspects identified as presumed responsible parties.

Master Sergeant Pedro Luis Guerrero Ibis was shot and killed during an assault on an alcoholic beverages establishment in the Higüero sector, Santo Domingo Norte, according to noticiassin.com.
The officer was off duty at the time of the attack. He was shot in the thorax and died whilst receiving treatment at the Traumatological Hospital Dr. Ney Arias Lora.
According to preliminary information from the National Police, several armed individuals broke into the establishment known as Gallera y Bar Higüero Abajo and robbed those present of their belongings. One of the attackers fired at the master sergeant, took his service weapon and a chain, and fled with the other perpetrators.
Following the incident, members of the Scientific Police arrived at the establishment and collected evidence that will be used in the investigative process.
The institution stated that the presumed responsible parties are undergoing identification whilst investigations continue to establish the circumstances of the crime. The search for those involved remains active with the aim of locating them, arresting them and bringing them before the courts.
