The National Police confirmed seven deaths in confrontations in Los Alcarrizos, Barahona, Gaspar Hernández and Santo Domingo. The September death toll stands at 35.

Seven men died in the last 24 hours following confrontations with National Police officers at various locations across the country, according to a statement made on Friday by the institution's spokesperson, Colonel Diego Pesqueira. According to elnacional.com.do, with these cases the total number of those killed by the National Police during September reaches 35.
The incidents occurred in Los Alcarrizos, Cabral—Barahona province—, Gaspar Hernández and the municipalities of Santo Domingo Este and Oeste.
The deceased in Los Alcarrizos were identified as Gabriel Luis Montero, alias "Campeón"; Domingo Santiago Valdez, known as "La Fama"; and José Daniel de la Cruz Valdez, alias "Hernán" and/or "Nay". In Cabral, Carlos Julio Féliz Sena lost his life; in Gaspar Hernández, Ricardo Polanco García, alias "Richard Gatillo". In Santo Domingo Este, Jenny Santos Franco Jiménez, known as "El Come Hombre de Los Frailes", died, and in Las Caobas, Santo Domingo Oeste, Haitian José Manuel San Luis, alias "Negrón".
According to Pesqueira, those killed were wanted for alleged involvement in drug trafficking, homicides and criminal association, and arrest warrants and active complaints existed against all of them.
The spokesperson indicated that the details of each case remain under verification and that official reports will be issued in due course. Pesqueira added that the Police act in accordance with protocols for proportional use of force and that officers respond according to established procedures when the individuals being sought confront the authorities.
