Seven suspected criminals dead in clashes with Police across the country
The National Police reported seven deaths in less than 24 hours following armed clashes in Los Alcarrizos, Barahona, Gaspar Hernández and Santo Domingo.

The National Police recorded the deaths of seven suspected criminals in less than 24 hours after they confronted officers attempting to arrest them at various points across the national territory, eldia.com.do reported.
The institution's spokesman, Diego Pesqueira, specified that the incidents occurred in Los Alcarrizos, Cabral (Barahona), Gaspar Hernández, Santo Domingo Este and Santo Domingo Oeste. According to Pesqueira, each of the deceased had arrest warrants and multiple active complaints filed against them.
Among those killed were Gabriel Luis Montero, alias "Campeón"; Domingo Santiago Valdez, alias "La Fama"; and José Daniel De La Cruz Valdez, alias "Hernán" or "Nay", all in Los Alcarrizos. In Cabral, Barahona province, Carlos Julio Feliz Sena died; in Gaspar Hernández, Ricardo Polanco García, alias "Richard Gatillo"; in Santo Domingo Este, Genny Santos Franco Jiménez, alias "El Come Hombre de Los Frailes"; and in Las Caobas, Santo Domingo Oeste, Haitian national José Manuel San Luis, alias "Negrón".
The Police stated that all those killed were linked to multiple criminal acts, including drug trafficking, homicides and participation in criminal organisations. The case of "El Come Hombre de Los Frailes" was highlighted by Pesqueira, who indicated that the individual was being actively sought through complaints and arrest warrants.
Pesqueira stated that the institution is keeping the details of each case under review and that official reports will be issued in due course. The spokesman reiterated that the Police act in accordance with established protocols for the proportional use of force, guaranteeing the rights of those who comply with the call to surrender, whilst responding according to procedures against those who decide to confront officers.
