Three arrested for attempted jewellery robbery in Villa Juana; retired second lieutenant wounded
The National Police arrested three men linked to an attempted robbery at a jewellery shop in Villa Juana, where a retired second lieutenant was shot and wounded.

According to listindiario.com, the National Police executed judicial arrest warrants against three men identified as suspected perpetrators in the attempted robbery of a jewellery shop in the Villa Juana sector, National District. The incident occurred on 7 October on María Montes Street, where a retired second lieutenant of the institution was shot and wounded whilst thwarting the crime.
The detainees are Shandde Moisés Amancio Arias, 19 years old; Ángel David de Jesús, alias "Escudero", 20; and César Edwar Tejeda Carela, alias "Pelo Fino", 21 years old. The first two are directly accused of attempting to carry out the robbery and of firing shots at retired officer Carlos Miguel Martínez Calderón.
A fourth suspect, identified as Alinson Juander Cuello Pujols, alias "Piri", remains at large. The authorities indicated that he has a police record for other crimes.
During the investigation process, the authorities voluntarily received a Glock model 45 pistol, 9 millimetre calibre, with illegible serial number and a magazine with a capacity of 30 rounds. The police report identifies that weapon as the one used by one of the detainees during the incident.
The arrests were made on Thursday, 8 October, as a result of follow-up to the case. The National Police reported that proceedings continue for the clarification of the facts and to put the accused at the disposal of the Public Ministry.
