Seizure of 43 kilos of cocaine in Guayaquil: driver detained
The Florida District Police seized 43 kilos of cocaine in a refrigerated container lorry north of Guayaquil. The driver was detained by order of the duty prosecutor.

According to vistazo.com, officers from the Florida 3 subcircuit, north of Guayaquil, intercepted a lorry during a preventive patrol and found 38 brick-shaped packages weighing 42.98 kilos of cocaine inside the refrigerated container of the vehicle.
Colonel Gustavo Cabezas Uriarte, head of the Florida District, stated that the container appeared to be contaminated with alkaloids. The drug, according to the authorities, was destined for the Port of Guayaquil to be sent abroad.
By order of the duty prosecutor, Jacinto Antonio M. L., driver of the cab unit, was detained. The lorry was transferred to the Judicial Police yards pending the corresponding legal process.
With this seizure, the Florida District has accumulated 70 kilos of drug confiscated so far this year, allegedly destined for small-scale trafficking.
