Ecuadorian influencer breaks silence after detention for curfew violation
The influencer Anthony Swag was detained on 19 September at 01:20 on Avenida Perimetral in Guayaquil, opposite the Interagua station, in the Trinitaria Norte sector, according to extra.ec. The police report indicates that Lencina was travelling in a black Changan car and could not justify his circulation during the restricted hours. Another man, 30 years old, was apprehended alongside him.
Days after the detention, the content creator used his Instagram account to make a public statement about what had occurred and respond to those who, according to him, celebrated his apprehension.
Statement on social networks
"Many things have happened to me in these days, what a downer I am. I have read comments from people who were demanding loudly that I stay locked up, only because they don't like me and have measureless hatred towards me," the influencer wrote on his social network.
Anthony Swag also acknowledged having committed an infraction. He assured that he presented a justification to the authorities and described the experience as a personal lesson.
"I made a mistake, I apologised, I presented my justification and this remains as an experience for me. And I can only advise you to never break the law, you won't want to be an hour in there. Respect the curfew," he wrote in the same statement.
He closed his post with a message directed at those who, according to him, wish negative things upon him: "To the people who wish whatever upon me, may God multiply it for them".
Hearing and precautionary measures
The flagrante delicto qualification hearing was held on the same 19 September 2026, at 13:50, under the direction of judge Ángel Luis Moya Cedeño and with the participation of prosecutor Fabrizio Neira. According to Ecuavisa, the authority ordered alternative precautionary measures for both defendants, in accordance with article 522, numerals 1 and 2, of the Comprehensive Organic Criminal Code (COIP).
Among the provisions are periodic presentation every Monday and prohibition on leaving the country. In addition, a deadline of 30 days was set for fiscal investigation under ordinary proceedings.
