Fifteen individuals classified as high-priority criminal targets were arrested over the course of a single week in Ecuador, according to eltelegrafo.com.ec. The operations, coordinated by the General Investigation Directorate, affected 31 cells linked to organisations including Los Lobos, Choneros, Tiguerones, Águilas, Lagartos and Fatales.

In total, the National Police carried out 825 operations between 28 September and 4 October, resulting in 435 people arrested.

During the same period, 2,750.02 kilograms of drugs were seized, along with 69 firearms and 1,256 rounds of ammunition. Additionally, 57 stolen vehicles were recovered and a further 60 motor vehicles were retained as part of various investigations.

One of the most significant seizures took place in Guayaquil, where police impounded 748 kilograms of cocaine hidden in cement sacks. The institution estimates that the shipment was equivalent to approximately 7.48 million doses and could reach approximately 35 million dollars on the European market.

In Portoviejo, an individual known by the alias 'Lolo' was located. He is under investigation for his alleged involvement in the storage and distribution of child sexual abuse material on digital platforms.

In another operation carried out in Guayaquil, the driver of a vehicle was apprehended. He allegedly transported those responsible for a contract killing in the Esmeraldas Libre cooperative.
