Three minors—two aged 17 and one aged 16, including a girl—were detained as alleged perpetrators of the double murder recorded on Friday 21 October 2022 in the Juan Montalvo cooperative, in north-west Guayaquil, according to vistazo.com.

The victims were identified as Jordán Stiven Párraga Coloma and Josué Oswaldo Maurad Ricardo. Both had gunshot wounds and stab wounds to the neck. Párraga had six previous arrests for offences including murder, robbery, fencing, drug trafficking and kidnapping, with several ongoing cases; Maurad had been detained on two occasions for murder and robbery.

According to information from the National Police, those involved transported the bodies from the Juan Montalvo cooperative, on the road to Daule, to the sector on the road to the Coast, near Chongón, where the bodies were collected.

In the case there is also a protected witness who collaborated with the Police to identify the alleged perpetrators of the crime. The woman was affected during the incident and is hospitalised in Guayaquil with a guarded prognosis.

A judge of the Juvenile Offenders Judicial Unit ordered the detention of the three adolescents in the Centre for Juvenile Offenders (CAI).
