12-year-old boy riding e-scooter at 57 km/h in Lasnamäe without speed limiter; police caught him after crash
A 12-year-old boy fled from police on Friday in Tallinn's Lasnamäe district on an e-scooter with its speed limiter removed. The vehicle reached a top speed of 57 km/h.

According to Minuaeg.com, Tallinn police attempted to stop two youths on Friday in Lasnamäe who were riding e-scooters dangerously and ignoring stop signals. One of the boys headed at high speed into a park among people.
The 12-year-old was caught after police directed him to an empty grass area — the boy lost his balance and fell. An ambulance checked his health on site and hospitalisation was not necessary.
Later it emerged that the boy had removed the speed limiter from his e-scooter. The vehicle's top speed was measured at 57 km/h, whilst the legally permitted maximum speed is 25 km/h.
Police spoke with both the boy and his parents, explaining that e-scooters with such power are classified as motorcycles, which require a driving licence, registration and insurance. The boy's accompanying companion remained uncaught.
