A younger man was detained near Jõhvi and is linked to a criminal scheme in which victims were defrauded. Over 17,000 euros in undeclared cash was found in his possession.

On 17 June, officials in Jõhvi parish detained a 21-year-old man who, according to his passport, holds Polish citizenship. He is suspected of criminal activity, having acted as an intermediary in a scheme that operated in Sillamäe and Narva.
A significant sum of money was discovered when the individual was detained – approximately 17,250 euros. This money may have come from people who fell victim to fraud.
The State Prosecutor's Office applied to court requesting that the man be remanded in custody for two months. The court granted this request.
