An 11-year-old boy was struck by an older driver's car in Ida-Viru centre as he crossed the road on his bicycle at a pedestrian crossing. In addition, several domestic violence incidents were reported from the region.

Around midday on 16 June, an 11-year-old cyclist was injured in central Kohtla-Järve. The boy was crossing the road on his bicycle near Keskallee 9 when an Opel Meriva driven by an 81-year-old man struck him. An ambulance took the victim to hospital.
Police received reports from the Ida-Viru region over the past few days of several violence incidents.
Late in the evening of 13 June, a 24-year-old woman assaulted her partner in Alutaguse parish. The following day, police received a report that an unidentified man had attacked another person in Jõhvi parish. That same evening, police had to travel to Kohtla-Järve, where a 36-year-old man assaulted his acquaintance.
On the evening of 16 June, a 42-year-old man assaulted his live-in partner in Narva. Police apprehended the aggressor. That same evening, police were notified of an incident in Narva-Jõesuu in which a 64-year-old man attacked his former partner. He was also taken into custody on suspicion.
