School attack in Lihula: police investigate beating between 15-year-old boys
According to Online.le.ee, on Friday one 15-year-old boy attacked another boy of the same age at Lääneranna Gymnasium's Lihula school building – kicking and punching him in the face. A group of schoolmates witnessed the incident and filmed it.
Henry Murumaa, operational chief of the Western Prefecture, confirmed that police received a call on Friday shortly after half past twelve. "According to initial information, one 15-year-old boy attacked another 15-year-old boy. Police have initiated a criminal investigation into the incident. The precise circumstances will be clarified during the investigation," said Murumaa.
School headmaster Rasmus Lippur explained that the incident occurred inside the school building during a lesson, and no adult witnessed the beating. "The lesson had just started," Lippur added. According to him, police summoned a school employee to the scene.
Although both police and an ambulance came to the scene, the headmaster did not notify the school's board of education – the local authority – of what had occurred.
