Man who shot partner in head faces lengthy prison sentence
The partner of a woman who died from gunshot wounds from a pistol last summer is standing trial. The 48-year-old Deniss Kislitsõn claims that the weapon discharged accidentally, but the prosecutor regards this act as intentional murder and is seeking harsh punishment.
The incident occurred in July of last year. The defendant and his partner Jelena were both prone to alcohol use. In the days leading up to the tragic evening, the man had consumed strong drinks consecutively over a period of approximately a week.
Following the shooting, Kislitsõn himself approached law enforcement and admitted that the shot came from his hand. Now the court must decide whether the act was a premeditated crime or indeed a fatal mistake.
