Young man sentenced to lengthy prison term in drug case and intends to appeal
Harju District Court found a 26-year-old man guilty of unlawful possession and sale of a large quantity of prohibited substances and sentenced him to a lengthy prison term.
The roots of the case go back almost a year, when a law enforcement operation took place in the Lasnamäe district of Tallinn, which escalated into a physical conflict. This incident initiated criminal proceedings that brought the young man to court.
Following the announcement of the verdict, the convicted man did not accept the court's decision. He spoke immediately with his defence lawyer and announced his intention to appeal the verdict. "Come on, I'll call you, I'm not letting it go like this!" he said after the hearing.
More detailed information regarding the length of the sentence has not been made public. His defence lawyer has already begun preparations for the appeal.
