Saaremaa business figure Tullio Liblik on the brink of bankruptcy
A Finnish businessman has filed a petition with the court demanding the bankruptcy of Tullio Liblik. Liblik was once one of Saaremaa's most well-known and influential entrepreneurs, but now he faces personal insolvency.
The man's court proceedings began three years ago when the state prosecutor accused him of applying for illegal subsidies connected to the construction of the WOW centre to be built in Pärnu. The first instance court rejected these suspicions and found Liblik not guilty in this regard. Regional court sessions will continue in early autumn.
In a second proceeding, however, Pärnu district court found that Liblik attempted to submit false data through the company Rimateks in order to obtain support funding. For this, he was sentenced to conditional imprisonment in April.
