The Central Criminal Police identified a person of Moroccan origin linked to unauthorised use of the pharmacy chain's customer system.

Investigators identified a second person linked to unauthorised use of the pharmacy chain's customer database. Adrar Jamal, a 30-year-old Moroccan national, is now subject to an international search. His younger brother Adrar Khalid was declared wanted in the same case last year.
The case began in February 2024, when illegal downloading from the data store of company Allium UPI was discovered. According to Jete Luigi, head of the Central Criminal Police's cybercrime unit, this demonstrates that internet-based crimes are not confined by national borders. He stated that it is important to prove that crimes committed in Estonia can still be solved.
So far, there has been no confirmation that stolen information was further misused.
State Prosecutor Vahur Verte noted that the incident affected the sense of security of many people. He highlighted that in recent years law enforcement has successfully identified organisers of several large-scale attacks. These include Russian nationals linked to attacks targeting state institutions, as well as the organiser of the Asper Biogene data theft.
Verte emphasised that digital services require service providers to exercise enhanced responsibility, particularly when handling health data and other sensitive information.
Harju County Court approved the arrest warrant. If Jamal is detained in any country, he can be extradited to Estonia.
