According to Ohtuleht.ee, three shops at Ülemiste shopping centre were broken into in the early hours of Monday, with their windows smashed. 130 items were stolen from a mobile phones and accessories shop from display cases – the loss is estimated at €50,000.

Regina Hasina, head of the property crime investigation unit at the East Harju Police Bureau, said that two shops selling electronic equipment and e-cigarettes were entered, but according to preliminary information, nothing was taken from them.

The perpetrators left the scene before the security firm and police arrived. Forensic officers and a handler with a dog who were called to the scene lost the trail a short distance from Ülemiste shopping centre. The stolen goods and suspects have not yet been apprehended.

A criminal investigation has been opened in the case.
