A 38-year-old British citizen could face two years in prison and up to six years of licence suspension for reckless driving in Ibiza, according to the Majorca Daily Bulletin.
The incident occurred on 4 September at 6.30 a.m., when the man ignored the signal from Guardia Civil officers to stop at a checkpoint on the road between Ibiza city and Sant Antoni. The driver sped away at high speed, putting the officers' lives at risk.
Authorities later located him at a hotel in Santa Eulària, where he was arrested. The investigation was strengthened by several videos of the incident circulating on social media.
