Hundreds demand justice for Carles Vilajosana stabbed to death in Manresa
A resident of Castellnou de Bages was stabbed to death in the early hours of Tuesday. Two minors aged 15 and 16 have been detained as suspected perpetrators.

Several hundred people gathered in the Plaça Major of Manresa to demand "justice" for the stabbing death of Carles Vilajosana, a 45-year-old resident of Castellnou de Bages who died in the early hours of Tuesday, according to El Mundo.
The mayor of Manresa, Marc Aloy, presided over a minute's silence at 12.00 hours outside the Town Hall, accompanied by the Justice Counsellor of the Generalitat, Ramon Espadaler, and the delegate of the Govern in Central Catalonia, Èlia Tortolero. Aloy also announced that the Town Hall would intervene as a popular accuser in the case.
Two minors aged 15 and 16 have been detained for their alleged involvement in the crime. The Counsellor for Internal Affairs and Public Security of the Generalitat, Núria Parlon, responded to political reactions and attacked Vox and Aliança Catalana for their "xenophobic associations" surrounding the case.
In an interview on Catalunya Ràdio, Parlon stressed that both detainees "have family and were born in Catalonia". The counsellor criticised the leaders of those two parties for having exploited the case to "spread hate speech" and release "false information against a vulnerable group", in reference to unaccompanied foreign minors.
"We cannot blame a collective for the extremely serious acts committed by certain individuals," Parlon stated. The counsellor further clarified that the two arrested individuals are not young people under the care of the Administration: one of them is the son of Catalans and the other belongs to an immigrant family.
Castellnou de Bages, a municipality of around 1,500 inhabitants located 15 kilometres from Manresa, is the town where the victim resided.
