Surgeon murdered in Marbella had reported previous threats
Plastic surgeon Alexander Aslani, 57, was shot at his clinic in Marbella on Wednesday. He had filed a report in April for threats received in his work environment.

Investigation focuses on dissatisfied client
According to Diario Sur, the investigation into the murder of plastic surgeon Alexander Aslani reveals that the doctor went to the police in April after receiving threats in the workplace. This antecedent reinforces investigators' working theory pointing to a contract killing orchestrated by a disgruntled patient.
Officers are now examining the clinic's complete records to identify cases of patients unhappy with treatments. Among recent episodes they are analysing that of a client who sent several messages expressing dissatisfaction with a treatment just hours before the attack. A week earlier, this patient's romantic partner had personally presented themselves at the facilities to express their discontent and make threats to staff.
The swift arrest of the alleged perpetrator bolsters the contract killing theory. An 18-year-old Swedish national was captured by National Police officers in Málaga barely 24 hours after the crime. His arrest clarifies responsibility on the ground, but places the investigation in its most complex phase: identifying who ordered and financed the execution.
The attack occurred shortly before six in the evening on Wednesday. An individual dressed in black, with a hood and a neck gaiter burst into Cirumed Clinic, located in the Panorama building in Marbella. The shooter opened fire at close range on several occasions, delivering the final shot to Aslani's jugular vein, and fled on a motorcycle. Emergency medical staff from the 061 service could only certify his death.
Aslani had more than 25 years of professional experience and had performed more than 15,000 surgical procedures. He was considered a world pioneer in the Brazilian Butt Lift technique, of which he completed more than 7,000 procedures. His reputation attracted patients from more than 40 countries, with a community of close to 200,000 followers on social media.
He had trained at international hospitals including Highgate Hospital in London, King Edward Hospital in Durban, South Africa, and Paracelsus University Hospital in Austria. Between 2008 and 2018 he directed the Plastic Surgery departments of Quirón Hospital in Málaga and Quirón Marbella. In 2007 he founded Cirumed Clinic, where he was murdered. He was a member of prestigious organisations in the sector including the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons.
