Searches of homes have been carried out in parallel at properties in the Arrayanes neighbourhood and in offices at the police station itself. The investigation points to the existence of a drug-trafficking network in which several members of the forces of order would have participated.
From the direction of the National Police Corps, the arrests have been confirmed, including those of the officers, although it has been decided not to provide additional information given that the operation remains active.
The focus of the investigation is on criminal families operating in Linares, Linares-Baeza Station and nearby localities in the region. These groups would be engaged in the illicit trade of psychoactive substances in the area.
The intervention of Internal Affairs, the department responsible for overseeing the conduct of uniformed personnel, highlights the seriousness of the suspicions weighing on the four arrested officers. Their connection to the drugs section specialised in narcotics of the local police station gives the investigation a particularly delicate character.
