A man remains on provisional detention after killing his partner in Barcelona in front of his two children aged 4 and 8. He turned himself in voluntarily after fleeing and setting his vehicle alight.
Remand in custody for man accused of killing his partner in Barcelona
The magistrate at the Barcelona district court with jurisdiction over violence against women ruled on Friday for provisional remand with communication restrictions and without bail for the man detained over his partner's death in the Sant Martí neighbourhood, according to La Vanguardia.
The court also imposed precautionary measures prohibiting contact with and approaching the couple's minor children, as well as the victim's parents. The case has been opened for investigation into homicide.
The crime was committed in the presence of both their children, aged 4 and 8. Following the incident, the man fled the area and set fire to the vehicle in which he was travelling.
In the early hours of Tuesday he turned himself in voluntarily by presenting himself at a police station in the l'Eixample district.
