According to telemadrid.es, the National Police have arrested Carlos, known in Madrid's criminal underworld as "Carlitos, the burglary king", a 40-year-old man with an extensive criminal record. The investigation began following a BMW used by the gang with registration plates from stolen vehicles.

Judicial Police Group 24 succeeded in identifying the eleven members of the organisation, comprised of Spanish, Serbian and Romanian nationals. The gang is facing 25 criminal charges: burglaries with force in industrial warehouses, vehicle theft and money laundering, among other counts, according to ABC newspaper.

The raids and arrests began in June; the last member was arrested in late July. During the operations, mobile phones, cameras, high-end watches, televisions and large quantities of cash were seized.

After appearing before the courts, three of those arrested were remanded in provisional custody, whilst the remaining eight were released with precautionary measures.
