Arrested in Berriozar for selling speed in bars and from a basement converted into a sales point

The Navarre Foral Police have arrested a 48-year-old man in Berriozar as the alleged perpetrator of a crime against public health for drug trafficking, according to noticiasdenavarra.com. The investigation identified a basement in the municipality as a distribution point for narcotics.

During a search of the premises, officers seized 40 grammes of speed, cutting agent, precision scales and cut-up bags prepared for dosing the drug. Records related to customer payments were also seized.

The operation was launched after the Foral Police received information about the possible existence of that sales point. Over several days, officers established a surveillance and monitoring device on the premises, in which they observed a constant flow of people and witnessed numerous exchanges of substances for money—the so-called drug "pases".

The investigation also revealed that the arrested man did not limit his activity to the basement. According to information provided by the police, he used an electric scooter to travel around Berriozar and make direct deliveries to customers in various bars in the municipality.

With this arrest, the Foral Police raise to four the number of drug trafficking arrests recorded in the Berriozar area throughout 2026. Of the people arrested in the different operations carried out during the year, two have been remanded in custody so far.

The operation is part of the Foral Police's efforts aimed at detecting and dismantling drug sales points, both in premises and through direct deliveries to consumers.
