A 62-year-old man was arrested in the car park of a nightclub in Chiva with cocaine, hashish, MDMA and two weapons hidden in the form of pens.

The Guardia Civil detained a 62-year-old Spanish national on 17 August in the car park of a nightclub in the Valencia municipality of Chiva, according to abc.es. The arrest took place during the municipality's patron saint celebrations.

A patrol in the vicinity of the establishment observed the individual acting suspiciously. As the officers approached, the man threw a rucksack behind a vehicle.

Inside the bag, the Guardia Civil officers found almost 20 grammes of cocaine, approximately 100 grammes of hashish, several MDMA tablets, 140 euros in cash and a loaded pen gun capable of firing 22 calibre ammunition.

Upon proceeding with the arrest, the detainee resisted physically. The struggle left injuries to an officer, who subsequently had to be treated at a health centre.

During a search of a vehicle connected to the arrested man, conducted in the presence of the detainee and his lawyer, officers found a second pen gun along with additional 22 calibre ammunition. In total three cartridges were seized.

The detainee faces charges for an offence against public health, unlawful possession of weapons and serious resistance to authority agents. The proceedings were handled by the Chiva Guardia Civil Main Station and handed over to the Civil and Investigative Section of the Requena Court, number 2 plaza.
