The National Police have arrested a 65-year-old man in Elche accused of distributing cocaine and cannabis from his home, according to ondacero.es.
The investigation was launched following complaints filed by neighbours, who alerted authorities to the constant flow of people in the vicinity of the arrested man's residence. Officers then began surveillance operations in the area.
During the surveillance, investigators established that there was a high volume of buyers visiting the property. Customers accessed the garage of the residence, where the exchange of narcotics for money took place, which made detection of the activity from outside difficult.
The subsequent search of the residence resulted in the arrest of the person involved. Inside, 895 grammes of cocaine, six grammes of cannabis, 170 euros in notes and a precision scales were seized.
After being brought before the courts, the arrested man was sent to prison. The National Police consider a significant drug dealing point in the municipality of Elche to have been dismantled.
