Arrested following attack with beer bottles in Estella

According to El Confidencial, officers from the Foral Police in Estella detained a 22-year-old man on Tuesday night who was the subject of a judicial detention order. The man was arrested as the alleged perpetrator of assault on public officials, disobedience, and resistance.

A patrol on preventive duties identified him around 23:00 hours in a public place. Upon confirmation of the outstanding judicial requisition, the detainee adopted a "highly hostile and aggressive" attitude, brandishing two glass beer bottles that he was carrying in his hands as a threat against the police officers.

Officers used protective equipment—helmets and shields—to restrain him. Two police officers sustained minor injuries as a result of the physical resistance offered by the arrestee. He was subsequently transferred to the local hospital for mandatory medical examination.

At the healthcare facility, violent conduct continued: he spat at healthcare workers and attacked the furnishings. Given the persistence of his behaviour, he remained in police custody monitored by two patrols until the conclusion of proceedings. The arrestee and the report were placed at the disposal of the on-call judge's court in Estella.
