Man released after shooting in O Vinteún, Ourense: fired three times without hitting victim
The judge ordered the release of the suspect in Sunday's shooting in the Ourense neighbourhood of O Vinteún, with a restraining order and monthly court appearances.
Released with precautionary measures after O Vinteún shooting
The man arrested for his alleged involvement in the shooting that occurred in the early hours of Sunday in the Ourense neighbourhood of O Vinteún has been released following his judicial appearance, according to farodevigo.es. The duty magistrate of the Instruction Section of the District Court of Ourense ordered his release with several precautionary measures.
The suspect must appear before the court once a month and is prohibited from approaching within 100 metres of the victim, as well as communicating with them by any means. He is accused of firing up to three times at the victim without managing to hit him.
The investigation remains open for an alleged attempted homicide offence and another for illegal possession of firearms.
The incident occurred at around 06.00 hours on Sunday, when the victim himself alerted the National Police that a man had shot at him in the O Vinteún neighbourhood and provided officers with information to locate the suspect.
With that information, National Police officers located the vehicle in which the alleged perpetrator was travelling at the roundabout situated between the N-120 and N-525, where they proceeded to arrest him and subsequently transfer him to the police station before presenting him to the judicial authorities.
The investigation suggests that the incident may have originated in a previous argument, that same night, in the city's pub area.
