Arrested on suspicion of sexual assault against a minor in Lleida
The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 65-year-old man on Tuesday in Corbins (Lleida) on suspicion of sexual assault against a minor from his family circle. According to noticiasdenavarra.com, the arrest came after an investigation initiated by reports from family members.
The detainee was brought before a judge this Friday. The investigation began after several family members came forward to report the incidents, which allowed investigators to proceed to the arrest of the man in this municipality in the Segrià district.
The Mossos have not publicly released details about the specific circumstances of the alleged incidents or the period in which they are believed to have occurred. Nor have additional details emerged about the exact relationship between the detainee and the minor, beyond that she belongs to his family circle.
Because a minor is involved, the available information remains limited in order to protect her privacy. The case remains subject to proceedings aimed at clarifying the facts. The man's responsibility will need to be determined in the corresponding judicial proceedings, in which the authority will examine the steps taken during the investigation.
