Man arrested in Ourense for firing three shots at man in dispute over 150 euros
A 33-year-old man was arrested in Ourense after opening fire on another person in the O Vinteún neighbourhood. The victim remained unharmed after taking shelter behind some bins.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested by the National Police in Ourense as the alleged perpetrator of an attempted homicide offence, according to cadenaser.com. The incident took place in the early morning hours in the vicinity of the O Vinteún and A Ponte neighbourhoods, and left the victim, a 31-year-old man of Dominican origin, unharmed despite three shots being fired at him.
The events began at around five in the morning in a pub on Ramón Cabanillas street. The victim was about to pay 150 euros for a bottle when the now-detained man allegedly snatched the money from him. The argument escalated into a physical confrontation between the two men over the notes.
Hours later, between six and seven in the morning, the two men crossed paths again in the vicinity of the victim's home, around Río Arnoia street. According to the statement taken, the suspect got out of a white Hyundai and threatened to kill the victim. He then returned to the vehicle, removed a pistol, and opened fire three times.
The victim managed to flee and hide behind some bins. Several neighbours, upon hearing the gunshots, alerted the police and provided a description of both the vehicle and the alleged perpetrator.
Agents subsequently located a Hyundai with similar characteristics at the Os Coloríns roundabout, next to the Local Police headquarters. Two people were travelling inside. After identifying the occupants, police proceeded to arrest the suspect.
The detainee was taken to the Provincial Police Station of the National Police in As Lagoas, where he was placed at the disposal of the courts. He is expected to appear before the duty judge between Monday and Tuesday. The detainee also has a police record.
