The National Police has detained a man in Palma as the alleged perpetrator of sexual assault against a minor under 16 years of age, indecent exposure, sexual provocation and production of child sexual abuse material. The minor reported that the assaults were repeated over five years. In her statement, she recounted that the man subjected her to touching, forced her to touch him, masturbated in front of her and recorded her intimate parts. The detainee offered her gifts in exchange for sexual favours.
The investigation began following a complaint lodged by the minor. Officers from the Family and Women's Unit (UFAM) of the National Police took a statement from the mother, who confirmed that she had suffered abuse at the hands of the same man.
Last Thursday, the officers proceeded with the detention of the man. During the operation, they seized his mobile telephone and conducted a search of his residence, where they seized various computer equipment. The items seized will be submitted for forensic analysis.
