A 49-year-old man was arrested by the Civil Guard in Navarre in the municipality of Sangüesa as the suspected perpetrator of an offence against public health, according to navarra.okdiario.com. Officers intercepted him in his van and found four controlled substances distributed in individual doses ready for sale.
The intervention took place when a Public Safety patrol driving on the NA-2420 road detected suspicious manoeuvres by the vehicle. Officers ordered the car to stop to identify its two occupants. At that moment, the officers detected an intense smell of cannabis coming from inside the vehicle, which prompted a more thorough search.
During a search of the driver, the Civil Guard located several packets hidden among his belongings. The subsequent official weighing produced the following results: 132 grammes of amphetamine, 31 grammes of hashish, 18 grammes of cocaine and 13 grammes of cannabis. In addition to the drugs, officers seized 890 euros in small-denomination banknotes and two mobile telephones.
The diversity of the seized substances, together with their presentation in small doses prepared for street-level dealing, led to the immediate arrest of the driver. The van, the money, the telephone devices and all of the seized drugs were placed at the disposal of the judicial authorities.
