Man arrested in Santander after assaulting police officer in street fight
A 32-year-old man was arrested in the early hours of Tuesday in Santander after taking part in a street fight and attempting to strike a Local Police officer. According to eldiariomontanes.es, the individual offered violent resistance during the police intervention.
Arrest for assault on local police officer
At 04:40 on Tuesday, Local Police officers in Santander intervened in a fight on Calle Cuesta de las Ánimas, near the regional parliament. According to eldiariomontanes.es, a 32-year-old man became involved in the altercation and insulted one of those involved. When police officers attempted to separate him, the man threw punches and swinging blows at the officers, offering what the police described as "active and violent resistance". He was identified, arrested and investigations were initiated against him for an alleged offence of assault against a person in authority.
Other incidents during the holiday weekend
During the weekend corresponding to the Virgen del Pilar festival, Local Police intervened in three complaints about noise in homes. On Monday, on Calle La Gloria, a 25-year-old man was reported at 20:05 for playing music at high volume from the entrance of his home. An hour later, on Calle Universidad, another resident aged 23 received the corresponding complaint for disturbing sleep during night-time hours.
In the early hours of Tuesday, on Calle Francisco Iturrino, a 23-year-old man was identified and reported for keeping the television at high volume that affected cohabitation in the building.
Two complaints for driving under the influence of alcohol
In the early hours of Monday, at 06:50, on Calle Julio Jaurena, officers conducted an alcohol breath test on a 24-year-old woman after stopping her for a traffic violation. The result was positive. The corresponding administrative proceedings were opened and her vehicle was towed to the Ojaiz Municipal Vehicle Pound.
One hour and fifty-five minutes later, on Calle José Hierro, Local Police conducted an alcohol breath test on another driver, a 27-year-old woman, with a positive result for the same reason.
