A 51-year-old man was arrested at Seville airport after more than one hundred capsules of cocaine were detected inside his body. The detainee was remanded in custody after being brought before a judge.

Officers from the National Police arrested a 51-year-old man at Seville airport accused of drug trafficking, according to elcorreoweb.es. Agents discovered that he was concealing approximately kilogramme and a half of cocaine inside his body, distributed in more than one hundred capsules.
The operation was part of the so-called Operation Conakry, a police operation designed to prevent and combat the introduction of narcotics through Seville airport.
The suspect had arrived from Conakry, Guinea with a previous stopover in Morocco. During routine checks, police detected signs suggesting that the traveller could be transporting narcotic substances inside his body.
Due to the suspicions, the man was taken to a hospital to undergo radiological tests, which confirmed the presence of more than one hundred capsules in his body. The detainee remained hospitalised until the expulsion process was completed, given the serious vital risk posed by this method of transport.
Once all the capsules had been extracted, tests confirmed that they contained cocaine, with a total weight of approximately kilogramme and a half. After police procedures were completed, the man was brought before the judicial authority, which ordered his remand in prison.
