Arrested in Torrejón for disappearance of his father, already charged with homicide in Toledo in 2021
A 52-year-old Cuban is remanded in custody for the disappearance of his 84-year-old father in Torrejón de Ardoz, whilst awaiting trial for another homicide.

Jailed for father's disappearance whilst awaiting trial for killing a woman in Toledo
A 52-year-old man of Cuban nationality, identified as Roberto, has been remanded in custody after being arrested by the National Police on suspicion of involvement in the disappearance of his father, an 84-year-old elderly man with Alzheimer's. According to elmundo.es, the case takes on particular gravity because the detainee was already pending trial for another homicide committed in Toledo in 2021.
The father was last seen on the morning of 7 September near Calle Virgen del Pilar in Torrejón de Ardoz. Days before his arrest, Roberto had knocked on a neighbouring flat's door to ask for help, claiming that his father had disappeared.
Active search yields no trace of the elderly man
The National Police inspected the flat and common areas of the building for several days in search of evidence. Officers also searched rubbish containers and the investigation extended to the Loeches landfill. A neighbour, identified as Silvia, stated that the Scientific Police could have found biological remains on the building's staircase, although she clarified that she herself never saw blood or heard screams or calls for help.
The case is being handled by the National Police's Missing Persons Group, in collaboration with the Torrejón de Ardoz police station. The investigators' priority is to locate the elderly man and clarify what happened from the moment of his disappearance.
Orlando, the missing man's brother and the detainee's uncle, stated that he suspected his nephew from the outset. According to his account, Roberto did not cooperate with investigators nor provided any explanation regarding his father's whereabouts.
Background: charged with murder of a woman in Toledo
The arrest is particularly striking given the detainee's history. In 2021, Roberto and other suspects were arrested while transporting in a van the body of Rosa Limón, a 66-year-old woman who had hired them to carry out a house move. According to the investigation of that case, the victim had suffered an attempted sexual assault before being murdered.
Five years after that crime, with the trial still pending, Roberto was arrested again and remanded in custody once more, this time for the alleged disappearance of his own father.
With no body recovered and without the detainee's cooperation, the National Police continues working to reconstruct the facts and locate the whereabouts of the 84-year-old man.
