Man detained in Vigo with half a kilogramme of cocaine after fleeing traffic accident

Vigo Local Police detained a man on Friday morning as the suspected perpetrator of a drug trafficking offence, according to vigoe.es. The detention occurred after the suspect fled on foot from the site where a collision between a car and a motorcycle had taken place.
Officers attended the junction of Estrada and Avenida de Castelao streets following the collision between the two vehicles, which resulted in no serious consequences for those involved. Upon arrival at the scene, a witness alerted police that one of the car's occupants—who was travelling as a passenger—had abandoned the vehicle and run away immediately after the impact.
Officers located the suspect on a street near the accident site. The man's nervous demeanour and the explanations he provided—claiming that he had left because he was in a hurry—prompted officers to conduct a search.
In the backpack he was carrying, half a kilogramme of cocaine, 20 grammes of heroin, €600 in cash and other items related to drug trafficking were found. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the relevant authorities as the suspected perpetrator of an offence against public health.
