National Police arrested a 36-year-old man on Thursday, 10 September as the alleged perpetrator of an attempted homicide against a minor on Calle Las Armas in Zaragoza, according to aragonplay.es. The victim sustained a total of 18 injuries distributed across various parts of the body.

The incident occurred on 5 September at approximately 20:00 hours, when the minor was alone in the street. The suspect approached the young man and asked for a lighter; when the minor refused to give it to him, the man began to insult him, drew a white weapon and began chasing him, catching up with him and attacking him across his entire body.

Following the assault, the suspect fled the scene. The victim walked to Miguel Servet University Hospital on his own, where he received medical treatment. The medical report presented during the complaint reflected the severity of the attack: 18 wounds, predominantly stab wounds, located on the face, neck, scalp, nape of neck, right arm, thorax and back.

The investigation was assigned to officers of the Judicial Police at the Central District Police Station, who quickly identified the alleged perpetrator. The detainee has accumulated more than ten police convictions for offences of a similar nature. On Friday, 11 September he was brought before the Court of First Instance acting as duty court, accused of attempted homicide.
