57-year-old Alexander Aslani was shot inside his aesthetic surgery clinic in Marbella. An 18-year-old has been arrested as a suspect.

Targeted execution at Cirumed clinic — authorities investigate motive
Renowned Spanish plastic surgeon Alexander Aslani, 57, was killed by multiple gunshots on Wednesday afternoon inside the Cirumed aesthetic surgery clinic, in the Real Panorama area of Marbella. According to news247.gr, the attack occurred shortly before 18:00, and Spain's National Police immediately launched an investigation to identify the perpetrators and clarify the motive.
The Spanish news agency EFE, citing investigation sources, reported that police arrested an 18-year-old as a suspect in the murder. So far, no further details have been released about the detainee or the exact circumstances that led to his arrest.
Attacker entered premises with covered face
According to initial information, a man dressed in dark clothing and with his face covered reportedly entered the clinic premises and shot Aslani from close range. The surgeon sustained multiple gunshots to the head. Rescue workers who rushed to the scene attempted to keep him alive, without success.
The emergency service 112 in Andalusia was notified at approximately 17:40, following reports from witnesses. National and local police officers, as well as rescue workers from service 061, rushed to the clinic. The case was taken up by the Judicial Police and the doctor's body was removed from the location several hours after the incident.
Local media reported that the perpetrators fled by motorcycle, while other sources mention the possible involvement of a second person, who reportedly used a different vehicle. These details are being examined by police and have not been confirmed.
Investigators explore three scenarios — organised crime ruled out
The fact that the armed man went to Aslani's workplace and attacked solely him reinforces, according to information received so far, the assessment that this was a targeted act. The Spanish news agency Europa Press reported that investigation sources have, for now, ruled out any connection between the murder and organised crime.
The website 20minutos reports that initial information points to a targeted attack by person or persons who went to the clinic specifically to kill the doctor. Investigators are examining the possibility of contract killing, personal revenge, or a crime related to the victim's professional activities.
Some sources have also mentioned the possibility that the attack could be connected to a dissatisfied patient or some aesthetic procedure. However, this scenario has not been officially confirmed. There is currently insufficient public information to link the murder to a specific patient or medical procedure.
Three decades of career — accolades in Spain and abroad
Alexander Aslani had built a professional career spanning over three decades and was widely known for his work in plastic surgery, body reshaping and aesthetic procedures. According to biographical information that has been published, he began his career in South Africa and continued his specialisation in Austria, Germany and the United Kingdom.
From 2008 to 2018, he served as head of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the Quirón hospitals in Málaga and Marbella. In 2016, according to information released by his clinic, he had been named Spain's best plastic surgeon. His father, Dr Amir Aslani, was also a doctor and had been recognised in Germany for his work in reconstructive surgery.
In 2018, Aslani founded Cirumed Clinic, a private medical centre specialising in aesthetic surgery, where he was working at the time of his murder. During his career, he had performed thousands of procedures and gained significant international recognition, particularly for body reshaping techniques and glute augmentation.
The police investigation is ongoing and authorities have not yet released further details to the public about the arrested 18-year-old or the course of the investigation.
