Two cannabis plantations on the same street in Arbo, Pontevedra
The Civil Guard seized 19 cannabis plants in two adjacent properties in Arbo. Their owners, aged 24 and 22, claimed the cultivation was for personal use and were not detained.
Two Arbo residents charged following discovery of cannabis on the same street
The Civil Guard has seized two cannabis plantations in separate properties on the same street in the Pontevedra municipality of Arbo, according to information released by the force on Monday. The two properties show no apparent connection between them. Their respective owners, a man aged 24 and a woman aged 22, both claimed that the cultivation was for personal consumption and voluntarily surrendered the plants.
The Civil Guard's Investigation Team in Tui (Pontevedra) had been surveying the area for some time in search of cannabis sativa crops. The investigation led to Arbo, where officers located the two plantations, situated close to one another.
First seizure: 15 plants up to 250 centimetres tall
On 12 August, investigators arrived at the first property, where the plantation was located in an adjoining plot. The owner, a 24-year-old man from the locality, acknowledged that the plants were his and allowed officers to enter. They seized 15 large plants, ranging in height from 150 to 250 centimetres, which were cut down and transported to Arbo barracks.
The man was not detained but was charged with an offence against public health in the form of cultivation or production of drugs.
Second seizure: four plants on the same street
In another property on the same street, investigators located four additional plants. Their owner, a 22-year-old woman resident in Arbo but originally from the nearby municipality of As Neves, explained that two of the plants were hers and the other two belonged to her boyfriend, with no apparent connection to the first case.
The plants, ranging between 50 and 100 centimetres in height, were also voluntarily surrendered and transported to barracks. The woman was placed under investigation—without being detained—for the same offence against public health. Officers referred all proceedings to Ponteareas Court.

According to ABC, cocaine remains the predominant drug in Galicia, consolidated as one of the main entry points for that narcotic into Europe. Marijuana trafficking is more common in other areas of Spain, although the Galician region is not immune to cannabis cultivation, as evidenced by this double discovery in Arbo.
