The alert came in at 11:10 in the morning, when the son of the arrested man—the victim's ex-partner—alerted the authorities. According to sources from the Superior Police Headquarters of Madrid conveyed to EFE, the man explained that his father had telephoned him to tell him that he had committed "a serious act" and that he was waiting for the officers to arrive.
National Police officers attended the property and proceeded with the arrest of the 85-year-old. The investigation is ongoing to clarify the exact circumstances of the death.
