Arrested in Matalascañas after brandishing a blade in a venue and frightening customers

According to Google News ES — Crime, Almonte Local Police detained a man on Sunday following an incident at an establishment in Matalascañas. The individual allegedly brandished a blade whilst maintaining a threatening demeanour, which created, in the words of the police themselves, "a situation of alarm among the people who were in the location".

The alert reached officers from a witness present in the venue. Once the suspect was located, he was detained and transferred to the cells at the Guardia Civil facilities pending his appearance before a judge.

Local Police also noted that there is a record of a similar incident previously registered at another establishment in El Rocío. On that occasion, officers also received an alert about an individual carrying a blade and displaying threatening behaviour, although he could not be located at the time.

In response to such situations, Almonte Local Police recommend "exercising extreme caution" and, in particular, "avoiding any confrontation or attempt at intervention by members of the public". If someone observes a person brandishing a weapon or engaging in threatening behaviour, the recommendation is to "get to safety, maintain distance and immediately report the facts to the police and security forces".
