Young woman hospitalised for ten days after assault with broken bottle in Valladolid: man remanded in custody
A 26-year-old woman sustained 30 stitches, a broken tooth and radial nerve severance after being attacked with a broken bottle in Valladolid. Two men were arrested; one was provisionally remanded in prison.

A 26-year-old woman spent ten days hospitalised at the Río Hortega University Hospital in Valladolid after being attacked in the early hours with a broken beer bottle, according to information released by the National Police in a statement distributed by the Government Subdelegation in Valladolid and reported by ABC.
The incident originated in the early hours of 7 August, when the two groups were involved in an initial verbal confrontation at an entertainment venue. The situation appeared to have been resolved when one of the parties left the area. However, at approximately 3.40 hours, both groups met again outside another bar.
The attack and injuries
The encounter escalated into a physical altercation. One of the suspected attackers delivered several punches to the young woman's face, whilst the second "made use of a broken beer bottle" to inflict several cuts on her face, according to the police account. When attempting to protect herself by raising her left arm, the victim received a deep cut on her forearm.
The medical report documented serious injuries: fracture of a tooth, displacement of another, complete severance of the radial nerve of the left arm—requiring emergency surgical intervention—approximately 30 stitches, and plastic surgery for the facial cuts. The young woman was not discharged until 17 August.
Identification and arrests
The two attackers had fled before the officers arrived. The National Police conducted investigations that included witness statements, review of images captured at the doors of the venues, and a thorough analysis of available information. These inquiries allowed them to determine "without any doubt" the identity of the two men involved.
Both were arrested on locate-and-arrest orders as suspected perpetrators of the offence of grievous bodily harm. The man who delivered the punches was arrested on 20 August; after appearing before the judge, he was released on condition that he appears before the judicial authority when required.
The second arrested man, identified as the one who used the broken bottle, was arrested on the afternoon of 21 August. The judge ordered his immediate remand in custody after receiving his statement.
