Jury convicts two men of murder of young woman in Zaragoza eight years ago

According to heraldo.es, the jury has declared Aivaras Savickas and Juan Echepares Omedes guilty of the murder of Maria Marian, a 28-year-old woman, which occurred eight years ago in the Movera neighbourhood in Zaragoza. The victim was shot outside her home.
The nine jury members reached this conclusion unanimously after deliberating. In the same verdict, they acquitted Jesús J. M. and Félix T. M., two other defendants who remained in the proceedings. The prosecution and the victim's family had withdrawn their accusations against four other people involved in the week prior to trial.
The prosecution and the private prosecution maintain their request for 23 years in prison for the two convicted men. The tribunal will now issue the final sentence.
