Spain's National Police dismantled a cell of the youth gang Dominican Don't Play (DDP) in Zaragoza, proceeding to arrest 12 people. The operation, carried out by officers from the General Information Headquarters and the Regional Information Brigade of Zaragoza, targeted suspected involvement in offences including membership of a criminal organisation, drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, unlawful occupation of property and electricity fraud.
The investigation began several months ago, when specialists in violent youth groups detected an increase in the organisation's activity in several neighbourhoods of the city, particularly in the Delicias and San José districts, accompanied by significant growth in the number of members.
During the simultaneous large-scale operation, the authorities carried out two residential searches and seized bladed weapons, replica firearms, narcotic substances, precision scales, identifying bandanas, several personal mobility vehicles and technological material that is being analysed.
According to the authorities, the group was composed mainly of the 12 arrested individuals and presented a defined internal structure, with a clear division of functions among its members. Investigators contend that the group gradually became established in different areas of the city, exerting notable influence over young people in the area.
Additionally, the arrested individuals were allegedly involved in several confrontations with rival gangs, including the Black Panther and Trinitarios groups. Investigations point to the group's main source of funding coming from drug trafficking and the commission of crimes against property.
The arrested individuals were placed at the disposal of the judicial system, and the examining magistrate ordered pre-trial detention for seven of them. The investigation is continuing and the Police do not rule out further arrests.
