Ceuta Local Police arrested a man on Thursday afternoon who attempted to gain access to a residential property on Enrique el Navegante street through a window, according to elpueblodeceuta.es. During the detention, the suspect assaulted one of the officers intervening.
The incident occurred at around 17:30 hours. The individual was discovered by the occupant of the property themselves, who raised the alarm upon becoming aware of the attempt. Their shouts alerted a Local Police patrol that was in the vicinity.
Upon being discovered, the suspect abandoned the attempt and fled. The officers managed to locate and intercept him shortly thereafter. During the arrest he resisted and assaulted one of the police officers, which resulted in his detention as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of theft using force and another of assault on authority.
The detainee was placed at the disposal of the courts on Friday. In the summary proceedings held that same day, he admitted to the charges against him and accepted the agreed sentence, thereby avoiding the continuation of the proceedings.
As a result of the agreement reached, the man will be expelled to Morocco and will be prohibited from entering national territory for a period of five years.
