Arrested in Ceuta for attacking soldiers during attempted burglary
A migrant was arrested on Thursday in Ceuta after throwing stones at an Army patrol that had caught him attempting to force entry into a private home, according to El Mundo citing police sources. No injuries were reported.
The patrol detected the man as he was trying to enter a house in the city. When the soldiers intervened, the detainee "deliberately" attacked them with stones and put up "brutal resistance with blows and kicks" during the arrest.
The incident prompted a joint statement from the Unified Police Union (SUP), the Unified Association of Spanish Military Personnel (AUME) and the Unified Association of Civil Guards (AUGC). The three organisations decided to "raise their voice jointly" in order to condemn "in the strongest terms" the events.
