Spain's National Police have found the body of a 34-year-old Spanish woman in her home in the Zarzaquemada neighbourhood of Leganés, according to leganesactivo.com. The body bore numerous knife wounds and a knife with traces of blood was found next to it.

The alert came in at 15:15 hours, when the victim's father went to his daughter's home at Calle Moraña, 19, after a period without hearing from her. Upon entering with his own copy of the keys, he found the interior completely ransacked and, suspecting it might be a robbery, called 091.

Officers from the National Police's Citizen Assistance Unit in Leganés entered the flat and located the woman's body in one of the rooms. The home showed signs of widespread disorder.

The victim was found with clear signs of violence. Next to the body, officers found a knife with what appeared to be traces of blood.
